Philmonters, If you are looking for some really good local training opportunities, look no further than the Bull Run - Fountainhead Parks. We did the Bull Run Occoquan Trail yesterday and it was by far the most challenging trail that we've done so far. Lots up ups and downs with lots of rocky terrain. You will get a really good workout, Fat cells were screaming and crying on all four of us yesterday! The best part about the trail is there is parking at many locations along the trail. We parked across the street from Bull Run Marina on Yates Ford Road. There was space for about 100 cars. The trail was not crowded but we did encounter many mountain bikers so beware of these. They tend to speed on the trail and don't really provide you with much warning that they are coming at you from behind, Attached is a map of the trails. We did the yellow portion of the trail.
